Fun in Seattle!

We had tons of fun on our trip to Seattle. We went to the zoo, the aquarium, and on a boat ride around the harbor. The kids loved seeing all of my family and also got to see aunt Dianne, uncle Bob, and cousin Sparrow.
At my grandma and grandpa's house in Gig Harbor. I hate to say it, but I think Lanie might have grandpa wrapped around her finger....

They also had tons of fun at the rehearsal, shower, and reception. They definitely got more than their fair share of the attention!

Lucky girl, got to carry around auntie's rehearsal bouquet

Lucky for Lanie, she gets her moves from auntie Erin and not me!

Aunt Erin's Wedding

This summer my sister, Erin, got married and boy was Lanie proud to be the flower girl. She took her job quite seriously, throwing the flowers all out in about 3 tosses, before she even made it to the rows of guests! She then preceded to cry "Lanie's flowers" and try to pick them up. I got her going again with my bouquet, but once she got to all the people, she was done and stood in the back with granny, daddy, and baby Jack for the rest of the wedding. The rest of us enjoyed the beautiful ceremony and were glad it turned out to be such a gorgeous day.

He hates to admit it, but Jack got a little bored...

Sick Baby!

Well it's official, Jack is sick--poor guy. He has had a cough forever and we've taken him to the doctor twice, but all they've said is he has a bit of a cold and an eye infection. Well yesterday he was sick and miserable all day, so we were glad his wellness check was scheduled for today. He is such a happy little baby that we knew something was wrong when he was fussy all day yesterday, not to mention the fever! When we took him in, the doctor said he had a bad chest cold, an ear infection, and an eye infection in both eyes, so he gave him antibiotics, which will hopefully kick in in the next couple of days. Meanwhile, he is miserable, yet still his sweet little self. I know I've been awful about this but seeing friends blogs (Wendy and Katie :) ) have inspired me to get back on top of it. We'll see...

More Summer Fun

We had lots of fun during grammie, uncle Ken, and Robin's visit. We took the whole crew, including granny and papa, and cousins Brook and Daniel, to the bison range. We also went to the Miracle of America Museum. Not only did Lanie get to ride this cute train, but we also got to ride on an old-fashioned WWII tank!

Time Flies...
I can't believe that Jack has already been home from the hospital for three weeks! I'd like to say I don't know where the last few weeks have gone, but I know the answer to that question. They've flown by in a sea of dirty diapers, feedings, and exhaustion. Yet, it has also been a marvelous and amazing time. Our family is now complete and we couldn't be happier despite the long nights and lack of sleep.
Lanie celebrates her
2nd birthday today, talk about time flying! She was lucky to have her grammie here for her birthday party this year. We shared her"happy" with papa at Aunt Suzie's house and Lanie loved being sung to and opening presents--a typical 2 year old.
I also went back to work part-time this week which was extremely difficult. I don't think Jack minds much, but Lanie had definitely gotten used to mama being home. I'm not sure who wants to cry more when I leave in the mornings-- me or her?!?! The only good part is I'm home at noon. I could get used to schedule!

Well it's official. This little guy is not so little. He already weighs over 5 lbs, so we scheduled a C-section for April 23rd at 7:30 am. The closer we get the more impatient I am to meet him!

BABY UPDATE

It's hard to believe I'm still 2 months away considering how big our little guy seems to be getting. We were scheduled for an ultrasound on Friday to check size, but our poor doctor broke his arm, and we don't get to go in until next Thursday. I'm half afraid they'll tell us that he has already reached Lanie's birthweight of over 9 lbs at only 7 months!
He seems to be doing well though. He is much more active than Lanie was and seems to be constantly on the move. Hopefully that's not a sign of future personality, because I don't think I'll be able to keep up!
I'm feeling pretty good. By Friday I'm worn out and don't seem to get much done on the weekends, but otherwise all is well.
I will try to get Lanie's Valentine's pictures up this week as well as ultrasound pictures next wekk. I'll have to say Lanie and I were very spoiled this Valentines day! Flowers from grandpa, dad and David. Ahh life is good!
